Finally I think sleep is coming to all of us. All the kids went down at their regular sleep time last night and slept through the night. Andrew is the only one who is still awake for a few hours, but that could be because he's now sleeping in the study on a foam mattress!
We made the decision that the only way Andrew would get any sleep at all would be to separate him from Jackson who is apparantly used to not only laying on top of someone to go to sleep, but wants to do this several times in the night whenever he wakes up! This doesn't make for restful sleep for Andrew as Jackson has wanted nothing to do with me at night.
The port a crib also wasn't working as he's so low to the floor he can't see or feel either of us in the night, so the compromise was he's now in bed with me alone and no more daddy at night! Actually, he's adjusted to this better than I thought and he seems to prefer both of us equally now. We're getting a regular crib later this week from a friend, so the plan is for Jackson to move out of our bed and be next to me where he can hold my hand at night.
Jackson is adjusting very well to a new home. He has taken to the dog without any problems and is really taking to a routine. He seems fairly compliant for not understanding any English and being almost 2! I think he and Kaylee will be very good friends once she accepts him and feels secure that she has to share her momma time now.
Kaylee is showing her adjustment difficulties by pouting more, speaking less and having more temper outbursts. I'm not sure she's feeling all that well either as she's complained of her ear the last few nights and her bowel habits just haven't returned to her normal since the diarrhea in China. Jackson goes for a pediatrician visit on Thursday and I may take Kaylee with us if she's not feeling better.
Sydney is loving all the grandparent, especially Grandma, attention. My parents have been a big help to watch the kids while we try to get into a good routine. We're still not sure if we'll be going to Galveston next week or not. I think I read where people are being allowed back on the island this week, so I'll just have to call later.
