Many of you wonder how we can be calm and not be anxious. That's not always entirely true as we are human after all! Yet we are confident in Whom we trust in. The word "perplexed" I think is an apt description of how I feel today. 2 Cor. 4:8 sums it up well: "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;..".
It seems the theme of this adoption journey has been about water, storms, and Jesus. Today's reading in a devotional book by Beth Moore called "Praying God's Word Day by Day" has a heading that says, "Christ does not always immediately calm the storm, but He is always willing to calm his child on the basis of His presence".
The reading starts out, "Praise be to You, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts me in all my troubles, so that I can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort I have received from You (2 Cor. 1:3-4). You are the only one who can turn misery into ministry."
May this be an encouragement to someone else today as well.
