I got a call today from Dr. Levitt's nurse at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in OH and we've got Kaylee scheduled for surgery on Sept. 20th--only 2 weeks away! That means we have to be in Cincinnati on Monday the 17th to be ready for tests on Tuesday, IV placement and bowel cleanout on Wednesday and surgery on Thursday. Kaylee will be in the hospital 7-10 days. Then she'll have to be seen in the clinic at post op day 14 where I'll learn about dilations.
Wow. It's a lot to take in--especially when I just now feel like I'm getting a handle on home life again. But will any time be a good time? There is no good time to be away from home and family that long. Especially when I've never even spent a night apart from Sydney since we brought her home from China just over 2 years ago. I don't know who it will be harder on--her or me. Or Andrew!
