Fever

Both girls got vaccinations yesterday. Kaylee only got 2 shots, but during the night started with a fever of 102. I've been alternating Tylenol with Motrin to try to get it down, but it's not staying down much. She acts like she doesn't feel good, too. I called the doctor and asked how long a fever should last and was told not more than 24 hours. So, if she's not better by tomorrow, we may be making another trip to the pedi.

I also found out Sydney was exposed to chicken pox last Sunday. Great. Even though she's been vaccinated there is still a 25% chance she could get a mild case. The timing isn't good as if she is going to become contagious it would be right when she's in IN with me and Kaylee coming out of the hospital. I think we'll be staying close to home until we leave for OH on Monday to minimize any exposure to germs as much as possible.

We're thinking of cancelling the MRI that was scheduled this Friday for Kaylee and seeing if it can be done while she's in the hospital in Cincinnati. I mean, she'll already be not eating and on IV's which are the requirements for sedation with anesthesia which she'll need. But I'm having LOTS of communication issues with the hospital in Cincy, so I may just have to make the decision on my own. If they can't do it there, then we can reschedule when we return to TX. It's not a prerequesite for surgery from what I understand. It's just part of the normal work-up for kids with IA to check for tethered spinal cord. It's needs to be sooner rather than later, but it's not an emergency.
