The pool's holding up to lots of daily abuse! Such fun when the temps are in the 100's.
Not sure if I've said, but potty training is pretty well done for Jackson. I haven't been brave enough to let him out in public more than once or twice in regular underwear, but it won't be long as he's never had an accident in his pull up. Kaylee is doing well at home, but for some reason won't tell us if she needs to go when we're out. So her pull up invariable ends up wet. She's had no accidents the last few days, and I'm cautiously optimistic!
Andrew has 1 more week of summer classes! Then he'll get a week off before the semester officially starts August 24th.
We're starting to get into a homeschooling routine with Sydney. I'm actually really enjoying it, and I hope she is too! Of course, she'd rather play all the time and not sit down, but the curriculums we're using are mostly workbooks with colorful pages, reading fun stories, or using math manipulatives like blocks and pennies. We're just taking it slow and adding a new topic gradually. This week in addition to the math and reading she's starting practicing her printing. I've been recommended a great book by Ruth Beechick called "The Three R's" which has been very enlightening. One of the things she recommded was having your child start off with copying simple scripture verses. Not only is this good for teaching grammer, but for learning the Word! I think "obey your mother and father" might be a good one to copy often :).
Jackson has switched speech therapists which is going to be a good change for us. He's doing fantastic with language although he is still quite difficult to understand once he puts more than 2 words together. One of our therapists gave us some information that at Jackson's age his vocabulary will quadruple by the time he's three-4 months away. This means his speaking will increase, but his clarity will probably worsen or stay the same as his mouth learns to coordinate all those sounds together.
