Doing great!

Kaylee continues to do great after her surgery. She is playing, laughing, eating, and just acting like nothing ever happened. Except for the 1 1/2 inch incision in the middle of her back that sticks out like the hunchback of notre dame you woudn't know anyone had touched her!

Her constipation is finally getting under control and her appetite is back to where it was--not a whole lot! She's become a picky eater and doesn't like new things!

I've decided not to continue catheterizing her unless after I speak to the nurse today she convinces me otherwise. I'm not getting much residual urine and with her fistula being so close to the urethra I'm more concerned about giving her a bladder infection. Especially because she's been stooling constantly lately.

Since we found out about her inguinal hernia I've emailed the doctor in Cincinnati who's going to do her rectal repair and he said he could just fix it easily at the same time! That would be so great not to have her undergo another surgery!

The first photo shows why my hair is getting more gray all the time--my little climber who can't resist a challenge. The second photo is in the hospital after surgery.
