Dance lessons

See if you can pick Sydney out of the line up! Hint: She's in pink. Unfortunately my camera took blurry action shots. I may need to upgrade since my kids are sure active!
Today was a day for parents to watch the lesson. Very cute. I'm glad Sydney didn't start lessons any earlier as she really needs to be able to listen to the teacher and follow directions, be able to put her own shoes on, recognize her "number spot" on the floor, etc. I got very few shots of Sydney looking at me, because at the start of the class her teacher told all the kids to listen to her and not look at the parents which Sydney took very seriously! She really loves the class and has a blast.
Andrew will be gone Friday and Saturday to a conference in New Mexico. I'm sure I'll be more than ready for him to get back! I took Sydney out shopping tonight to Kohls for just over an hour which was a nice, but brief get away. The kids clothes section is close to the toy section, so she spent her time playing while I browsed for sizes they didn't have, so we came home empty handed! Jackson cried when I left and when I got back he came running to give me a big hug with a smile on his face! That was really nice because I think this is the first time he's given me a smile when he saw me.
Kaylee's language is really starting to expand. For the longest time she used to say water something like "lo-lo" which we all became familiar with and knew what she wanted. All of a sudden she changed and now it's "wa-er" which I don't recognize initially and have to ask her to repeat it! The funniest thing she says is "hor-hee" for horsie. Without fail as soon as we get in the van she starts up "Where hor-hee gone?" "Where cow gone? Mmmooooooooo". So we spend our time to our destination looking for horses and cows! When we see some she yells out "Mommy! Hor-hee! Neighhhhh"!
She'll be 2 1/2 in a few weeks and it's amazing how much she's grown this past year. Such a difference between the tiny 15 pound, pale little girl we met in China. She's gained 9 pounds, grown several inches, learned to not only walk, but run, jump, and ride a tricycle, go from being solely bottle fed to eating everything in sight, endure three surgeries, and most recently make a trip back to China where her world again turned upside down when her brother joined the family! What a sweet, active, sensitive, independant child she is and I can't imagine life without her. She willingly participates in her older sister's make believe games where she's often the baby, the patient or just the one to be there! But she doesn't tolerate Jackson as well who often thinks nothing of grabbing her toys or just gets in her face wanting to join in. That's when she'll retaliate and out of frustration will lash out and bite him. Gosh I hope this phase passes quickly!
