A decision--finally!

We found out yesterday that the China orphanage fee is being raised $2000 effective as soon as the Olympics are over! So we spent a good bit of time trying to find out if it was possible for us to travel earlier than first anticipated in order to beat the price increase only to find out the local government isn't taking any more applications for processing during the Olympics.

Which left us back to our original plans and trying to find "good" airfares among the myriad of possibities! We found something acceptable, so we will be leaving in exactly 5 weeks from today! Now to try and navigate 24 hours of travelling, 4 different airports, 3 separate flights, and 2 kids wondering what happened to their nice, predictable schedule of living!

We also found out we'll be the only family in our travel group for the first part of our stay in Guangzhou. The rest will join us the second week.

All we can do is trust that God is in control, because all of these recent developments aren't quite what we anticipated. It's easy to focus on the negatives and difficulties of such a trip and forget the whole reason for this---a precious little boy named Kai (for now) who is going to join our family!
